Creamy Omega‑3 Pâté
Easy Creamy Sardine Pâté
If you’ve always thought sardines aren’t for you, this simple pâté might just change your mind. It’s creamy, bright and full of flavour, without being overly “fishy”. Plus, it’s an easy way to enjoy the benefits of Omega‑3 fats for heart, brain and hormone health, using ingredients you probably already have in the cupboard.
Ready in minutes, this pâté works beautifully spread on toast, spooned onto crackers or served as a dip with crunchy veggies.
Ingredients
- 2 tins sardines in olive oil, drained
- 2 tbsp tomato purée
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 15g parsley, chopped
- 110g cream cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Method
- Add all the ingredients to a food processor.
- Blitz until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape the sides if needed.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning, you may want an extra squeeze of lemon or a little more pepper.
- Serve with toast, crackers or crunchy vegetables such as carrots, cucumber or celery.
Serving Suggestions
- Spread on sourdough toast for a quick lunch
- Spoon onto oatcakes or rye crackers for a simple snack
- Use as a dip with carrot sticks, cucumber or celery
- Add to a mezze platter with olives, tomatoes and crusty bread
